We took the RV up to the Denver area to visit family. We had a great time. Maggie joined us! We stopped at a few really nice RV parks along the way. Here’s a few of the highlights.
Our first stop was at Route 66 RV Park. (Albuquerque) We really liked this one. It was clean, pretty quiet, and had nice facilities.
Our next stop was Colorado Heights in Monument Colorado. This was a very scenic park, with lots of trees and nice facilities. We couldn’t get the wifi to work. I think we were off to the edge of the park too far. We still enjoyed it!
The park we ended up staying at for a few days was located in Erie Colorado. It was called Liberty Hill RV Park. It was pretty mediocre. Without sounding too mean, it was just a parking lot with RV utilities. No trees, grass areas were dead, gravel parking spots that were nowhere near level. The most unusual thing about this location was the security. It was located in the middle of farmland but had keypads and gates to get in and out. Although I appreciate the added safety it gave us. it just seemed a little weird. (are the local farmers going on property and visiting the guests?) We rented a Jeep Rubicon while we were here, very fun!
We really enjoyed the weather and seeing family for a few days. We did manage to sight see a little bit with a trip up to Pikes Peak. We rode the cog-train up to the top. Amazing views.
The trip back was enjoyable, we did have the “check engine” light appear after going up the big hill near Camp Verde. We were a little nervous. We made it home ok and I had O’Reilys read the error code to see what happened. It’s cylinder number 5 misfiring. The parts are only $75 fo fix it. I just need to figure out if I can do the work myself. (stay tuned!)
